We are very happy that Baltic Ice-Blokart Champs 2012 has finished. It was a big challenge that pilots and the organizers had to deal with: snow, no wind, rain, lots of wind, sail changes, short racetrack, etc.

Nonetheless everybody had at least 4 races and thus the Champs was completed. Pilots had a possibility to visit local winter festivity “Stintapukis” and taste different pancakes baked on fire, etc. which was going on right in front of the racetrack.

Open Baltic Ice-Blokart Champs 2012 is starting in 10 days.

30 pilots have already registered for the races: 15 lithuanians, 6 estonians, 4 belgians, 3 polish, 1 dutch and 1 italian.

We have nearly perfect ice conditions on the Curonian lagoon at the moment. Ice thickness is 30 cm, very smooth, snow patches make not more than 25 percent of the area, snow depth – 5-7 cm.

A newsletter with location confirmation and other necessary info  will be sent 13th February at latest.

Blokart World Championships 2012 is going to be held on the Ivanpah dry lake bed in the United States of America. Blokarts premier event comes to landsailings “Mecca” on 8th April 2012, for a week of fierce competition.

Lithuanian Blokart Team member Matas Mizgiris current European and World vice-champion has entered the event. Sponsorship is very welcome!

For the competitors this picture means lower winds and more efforts to keep the momentum of the Blokart. And of course a big test of the landsailing skills.

Friday’s Match race session at the beach Near Smiltynė New ferry is canceled – training session will take place in Nida airport instead.

We welcome you to join Blokart sailing event in Nida, Lithuania! Open Baltic Blokart Championships will take place on 11th-13th November, 2011 in unused Nida Airport. Blokarts for rent will be available.

During the championships Neringa city will be celebrating its birthday, various activities will take place.

Terschelling island, Netherlands will host Open European Blokart Championships 2011. Island has great beaches of hard sand where around 70-90 pilots are going to compete.

Baltic Ice-Blokart Championships is going to take place on 25th-27th February, 2011 on Curonian lagoon ice near Nida.

Ice thickness is 48 cm, snow layer 5-7 cm, but the temperatures are above zero at the moment, and at least 10 days are forecasted to stay this way, so it looks ice conditions are looking very promissing  for our event!

Lithuanian Ice-CUP was held last weekend on 22nd-23rd January at Rekyva lake, Lithuania. More than 30 pilots were competing in DN, Ice-Opti and Ice-Blokart classes. Ice conditions were OK, thickness of 25 cm, snow layer 3-5 cm. Winds varied from 4-7 m/s during the Champs. Every class completed at least 6 races and got 1 discard. Ice-Blokarts were competing in 2 weight classes <80 kg and 80+ kg.
